In August we funded social workers from our programmes in Mindanao (Philippines) and Myanmar to join others from Manila and Cambodia in a join training workshop in Singapore. The training was led by Childhood Cancer Foundation (CCF) and their experienced group of social workers, and was co-funded by Asian Children’s Care League (ACCL) in Japan. Participants learnt about best practice in social work, how best to support children with cancer and were able to join a youth camp led by CCF in Singapore.
All of the visiting trainees finished the course feeling happy and inspired, with renewed confidence to begin building their own social support programmes.
We would like to say a huge thank you to CCF for leading the training, to Kazuyo Watanabe at ACCL and to all of the participants.
