Nober was 1 and a half years old when he was diagnosed with a cancer of the soft tissue. When he arrived with his grandmother at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), the hospital in Davao City partnered with World Child Cancer, he was unable to walk because the tumour he had was compressing his spinal column. Once he had received chemotherapy treatment he was able to learn how to walk while he was at the hospital.

Nober had treatment for 1 year and lived at the House of Hope at the hospital, a home full of joy provided for patients and their families, during his treatment.

Nober is now 7 years old and his cancer is in remission. He attends a follow-up visit at SPMC every year with Dr Mae Dolendo and was seen most recently in 2016 with his grandmother happy and healthy.

World Child Cancer is working to ensure that children like Nober in the Philippines have access to follow-up care for a successful recovery.
